SHADOW OF LOVE
June 18, 2009
I wake up
unearthly hour
carved moon
up in the balmy sky
tormented
tortured
hapless
a sharp twinge of
anguish
penetrates
the impregnable walls
of my heart.
Thoughts of you
deluge me
is your love a nebulous dream
or are you an ephemeral reality
are you only amusing yourself
or am I letting my passions punish me
Why is love
intertwined with helplessness
why do I
surrender
to your whims
with uncompromising regularity
why is love obsessive
why do I see visions of you
endlessly?
Do I see you there now
your majestic tresses
teasingly touching
your naked shoulders
your smile beckoning promises
of untold
unsaid
mysteries, treasures of
love
are you waiting for me
to reach out
to you
are you only an apparition
or are you, just a shadow of love?
